If you hear explosions in the port area of Gibraltar on Thursday morning, do not panic, Gibraltar is not being bombed, rather the Gibraltar Port Authority is carrying out “small surface detonations” at South Mole, in the Gibraltar port, they announced.
For this reason, it has issued a local advisory for boaters, warning of “small surface detonations” in South Mole, at berths 48 and 49.
They will take place on Thursday the 9th between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. All detonations will be carried out within a safety radius of 100 metres, they clarify, and an RN Safety boat will be in attendance and contactable on VHF Ch 8.
