Household supply chain JYSK continues to grow in Spain and has just opened its 150th establishment in the Iberian Peninsula, as part of the company’s expansion strategy worth an approximate investment of 16 million euro as well as the creation of 350 jobs.
“Closeness to our clients, understanding their needs and their satisfaction are fundamental values of our strategy, which guide all our actions at JYSK. Therefore, we are delighted to achieve this significant milestone and have reached 150 stores in Spain and Portugal, a testament to the trust that customers place in JYSK. This achievement only encourages us to continue and improve ourselves every year to reach more homes,” says Carlos Haba, general director of JYSK Spain and Portugal.
In its last fiscal year, which ended at the end of August 2023, JYSK teams have carried out 26 store openings in Spain and 4 in Portugal, in addition to 22 remodelling. Currently, the firm is present in the Iberian Peninsula with 126 stores in Spain and 24 stores in Portugal; and has a staff of 1,400 employees.
“The expansion and growth of JYSK represents a great opportunity to be drivers of employment, and allows us, each year, to generate 300 new hires and more than 100 promotions within the company, ensuring quality professional development,” adds Belén Quirós, Director of Human Resources at JYSK Spain and Portugal.
The JYSK store concept adapts to commercial spaces of approximately 1,300 square metres, including a sales room, warehouse and back office, in shopping centres and retail parks, in cities with an area of influence of more than 60,000 inhabitants.
