Despite the heavy rainfall which has now been recorded into the weekly statistics, the national average value of accumulated rainfall from the beginning of the hydrological year (October 1, 2022) until September 5 is estimated at 524 l/m 2 (around 13% less than the normal value corresponding to said period of 601 l/m 2).
The accumulated quantities are below their normal values in a large part of the Peninsula and the archipelagos, especially in the northeast and southwest quadrants of the peninsula, more isolated areas of the Cantabrian coast, interior of Valencia, east of Cuenca and in the greater part of the Canary Islands, where it does not reach 75% of that value.
On the other hand, normal values are exceeded in Galicia, the western half of Castilla y León, Soria, the northern half of Extremadura, the coast of Almería, Alicante, Murcia and points of Madrid, Toledo, Cuenca, Mallorca, Menorca and Tenerife.
