Spanish airport operator Aena has achieved 16th place in the “I Ranking of Companies for Equality” of the Fundación Woman Forward.
The equality initiative aims to recognises the commitment of 50 companies and their CEOs, directors and senior managers to equal opportunities between women and men.
During the presentation ceremony of the study, Aena’s Director of Organisation and People, Begoña Gosálvez, collected the certificate that accredits the good results of the company in this first edition of the ranking.
Aena has achieved equal representation in its main management bodies: the Management Committee is made up of six women and four men and the Board of Directors, by nine women and eight men. Aena’s workforce is made up of 37% women and 63% men.
Women occupy 47% of the total of all management positions, middle managers and graduates. In addition, four of the airports that handle almost 30% of the air traffic in the total Aena network (Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat, Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández, Ibiza and César Manrique-Lanzarote) are run by women.
