Spain and the US will launch a Working Group to share experiences and continue working together on health digitization and Mental Health.
This has been advanced by the Minister of Health, Carolina Darias, after the meeting she held with Andrea Palm, Undersecretary of the US Department of Health, within the framework of the II Summit of Ministers of Health of the G20, which is being held in Bali (Indonesia).
During the meeting, the US representative has shown interest in learning about the progress of the Spanish National Health System (SNS) in terms of healthcare digitization.
Both countries share an interest in the use of new technologies (ICT) to strengthen health systems, especially focusing on interoperability, for the exchange and access to clinical information.
Likewise, the USA and Spain agree on the importance of developing support tools for the most vulnerable and telemedicine in the field of Mental Health.
In addition, at the bilateral meeting, the Spanish minister and the US representative at this G20 Summit highlighted and shared the health challenges that both countries have ahead of them to deal with future health emergencies.
