Madrid prepares for the most important electric vehicle event in Spain

The seventh edition of the Madrid Electric Vehicle Fair (VEM2022), which will take place from September 16 to 18, coinciding with the European Mobility Week, already has more than 60 exhibitors and up to 30 manufacturers.

The event, promoted by the Business Association for the Development and Promotion of Electric Mobility (Aedive), with the Madrid City Council and with the collaboration of the Government of the region, has the objective of accelerating the rate of penetration of electric mobility in the Spanish car fleet and publicise the existing electric vehicle models on the market.

Thus, brands such as Citröen, Fiat, Ford, Invicta, Jeep, Kia, Lynk & Co, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, MG, Nissan, Opel, Peugeot, Renault, Smart and XEV will exhibit their current range of battery electric and hybrid models. They will be joined by moped firms such as Silence and Yadea, or electric bicycles and scooters such as Voi or Bridgestone, given the strong demand in this segment.

Over the weekend, the event will feature the entire electric mobility ecosystem, with charging infrastructure operators such as Endesa X Way, Iberdrola, Repsol, Shell, Cargove, Charge Amps, Hellonext, Wenea or Telpark, among others, and with manufacturers of charging points, electric vehicle components, installers, leasing and rental companies, such as UFO Drive, shared mobility and energy storage.

Likewise, it will be possible to learn about contactless payment services for public access charging points and even through blockchain solutions, and others for the financing of vehicles and infrastructures through BBVA Consumer Finance.

For its part, Cerveceros de España, an entity that brings together beer producers in our country, will attend VEM2022 to convey a message of responsibility for drivers, which proposes zero emissions in mobility and zero alcohol consumption when driving.

On the other hand, on September 17, within the framework of the fair, the IX Electric Vehicle March will take place, which seeks to encourage the citizens of Madrid to make the leap to sustainable mobility through the experience and support of the owners of electric vehicles.

The organisers have estimated a participation of more than 200 electric vehicles in this march, one of the most colourful activities to make visible the benefits of silent and zero-polluting driving.
