The National Police have launched a Megadron helicopter to access areas that are high in nuclear or chemical contamination, and to reduced air spaces.
“The use of this autonomous air vehicle will place the @National Police at the forefront of the European police activities in terms of drones,” said a spokesperson from the National Police.
The Megadron has a capacity for two people and is decorated with the corporate colours of the security force.
The Megadron uses an electric motor and has eight propellers that allow it to reach a maximum speed of 130 km/h with a load capacity of 220 kilos.
Itself weighing 600 kilos, it will be used to access areas of high contamination, CBRN (Nuclear, Radiological, Biological and Chemical Defence).
