The general director of Public Health, Yolanda Fuentes, has resigned this Thursday evening from her position, a decision that takes place a day after the Community of Madrid requestd to enter Phase 1 of de-escalation, a spokesman for the Ministry of Health has confirmed.
Fuentes, appointed last September, has continued to work in the Madrid Health Service, in the 12 de Octubre, Infanta Cristina, Carlos III, Clínico San Carlos y La Paz, hospitals.
She resigned following the decision by the Community of Madrid to present to the Ministry of Health its proposal for de-escalation on May 11, on the understanding that it met the criteria set by the State Executive.
Sources from the Ministry of Health of the Community of Madrid have explained that Fuentes has submitted her official resignation this afternoon, so he is no longer exercising this position.
